A few reminders from last Sunday's sermon by Pastor Jeff Klingenberg...
Background Scripture: Ezekiel 28, Genesis 3, Deuteronomy 7, Romans 8.
1) You don't have to believe everything you think.
2) You can win the battle for your mind!
3) Your enemy wants you focused on your fallen humanity instead of your divine destiny!
4) God's Spirit wants to guide our minds.
5) Satan condemns us, but God defends us.
6) We act according to what we think we are.
7) Praise prioritizes your mind.
8) Praise helps you live victoriously!
Condemnation:
1) To express disapproval of, so as to condescend.
2) To declare unfit for use.
Romans 8:1 "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."
How do we move from condemnation to confidence?
1) Confession: Confession clarifies. It is acknowledging our sin. It is speaking to the sin and ourselves as God speaks to us. God says in His Word, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).
2) Cleansing: We are cleansed by the renewing of our mind (Romans 12:1-2). The Word of God changes us. After we confess, we must cleanse.
3) Confidence: Walk in the confidence of who Christ created you to be and who you are in Him. Then, declare who He is. Open up your mouth and praise Him forevermore! (Psalm 51:10-15).
